Incentive Information
For electrically heated homes, your heating costs are typically the largest portion of your bill. By installing a Smart Thermostat, you can reduce energy costs and maintain more comfort control in your home. Grays Harbor PUD offers a $100 rebate when you install a qualified energy-efficient Smart Thermostat in your home.
Eligibility
• The primary source of heat in your home must be an electric forced-air furnace or an existing heat pump. Dual fuel systems are not eligible.
• Rebate applies only to existing heat pumps. New heat pumps and ductless heat pumps are not eligible for Smart Thermostat rebate.
• Applications must be received within 60 days of purchase.
• Limit one Smart Thermostat replacement per 5 year period. Homes with two separate heat pump/furnaces can qualify
for two smart thermostat rebates.
Requirements
• Qualifying Smart Thermostats must be listed on BPA’s Smart Thermostat Qualified Products.
• Thermostats must be set to the geographic location where the thermostat is located.
• Thermostats controlling air source heat pumps must be programmed to recognize the existing heat pump system.
• Pre-approval is required prior to starting the project to ensure compliance with program guidelines.
• Applications must be received within 60 days of purchase.
• Thermostats shall be installed in accordance with applicable State and local codes, Federal regulations, and the most
recent version of the National Electric Code. If necessary, electrical permits are required on thermostat replacement projects.
• All completed projects may be inspected by PUD staff to ensure compliance with the District’s program.
Steps to Participate
• Confirm your eligibility for a Smart Thermostat rebate by contacting the GHPUD and schedule a free energy audit.
• Complete Smart Thermostat Replacement.
• Submit GHPUD Smart Thermostat Project Application Form and an itemized material invoice.
• Schedule final inspection.
