Connected Thermostat Program

Web-Enabled Programmable Thermostats (WEPT) or Connected Thermostats are devices that allow users to modify temperature set points and HVAC controls remotely. Building owners can use WEPT to help optimize heating energy use without having to make physical site visits to manually re-program thermostats. Please see the Implementation Manual for more details.

Incentive Information

$200 per thermostat for qualifying customers.

*Grays Harbor PUD reserves the right to revise program rules and guidelines, including discontinuing all or part of the available incentives at any time and without prior notice. All projects once approved, will be subject to the guidelines and incentives in place at the time of approval.
Eligibility
• Heating type is electric or gas.
• Existing HVAC system (which will be controlled by the new thermostat) has an existing supply-fan.
• Replaces an existing thermostat that is not web enabled.

New Connected thermostats installed must be on BPA's Connected Thermostat Qualified Products List, and include the following features:
• Limited duration occupied-period override,
• Multiple set-back schedules with energy-saving temperature set- points during unoccupied periods including evenings, holidays and breaks.
• Capable of scheduling the supply fan to operate continuously during occupied periods, and to operate in “auto” mode during unoccupied periods.
• Remote, web-based monitoring and programming.
• Battery and memory back-up to retain settings during power or internet losses.

Contractors shall be members of the Air Northwest trade ally network.

Steps to Participate
1. Contact Energy services at Grays Harbor PUD for more information and to determine eligibility.
2. Contact a contractor or vendor from the Air Northwest trade ally network to request quotes.
3. Submit application, Connected Thermostat Project Information Form, contractor bids and technical information.
4. Pre-approval by Grays Harbor PUD for projects must be obtained prior to material purchase and installation.
5. Upon project completion the contractor or customer will notify Grays Harbor PUD, and provide all paid invoices and other documentation associated with the project.
6. Grays Harbor PUD will conduct a final inspection of the project to verify the project and compliance with the proposal. The rebate will be processed once the inspection is completed.
